This is a very innovative set. It is the 3rd car in the Ultimate Car Concept Series. Like the other cars in the series, it has a working gearbox, working steering, suspension, and an engine with moving pistions. A lot of new parts were created for this set that are commonly used on all the sets newer than it. It was the first set in the series to feature working scissor doors. There is even a lever in the interior that lifts the rear wing.
The gearbox in any Lego Technic set is always the best part. This one shifts smoothly and looks great. When designing the set Uwe Wabra didn't want to cover up the gearbox with all the other elements, so he put a hole in the bottom of the car where you can see the gearbox work.
When making this set Lego knew they had to recreate the sideways suspension that is on the real Sián. The result is working suspension that looks exacly like it does on the real car.
The engine on this set looks a lot like the engine on the real Sián. It has the exaulst manifolds on the sides and a cover that looks like the real engine. it is textured like carbon fiber, and has a label that says V12. It even has the bars that cover up the engine.
The steering wheel turns the front wheels to steer it like all other cars in the ultimate series. The axle works like a real car so it can steer, spin, and have suspension.
Lift the lever in the interior to raise and lower the rear wing. It moves like the rear wing on the real Sián.
Like many sets in the series this set was designed by Uwe Wabra. It took two years to design and Lego worked closly with Lamborghini. Lots of new parts were designed to make it perfect. They designed parts like new fenders, new frames and beams, and custom rims.
This set is very fun to build. When you start you build all the mechanical elements, then you build the frame and bodywork. It is very complex and has a lot of moving parts.
These sets always have complex boxes that are well designed.
Once opened you will see more boxes that look like the back of the car. They contain all the parts.
When you pull them out you will find the instructions under them.
The doors don't stay opend for long thogh this was fixed on the newest model. The wheels can squeak but they are fixable. Some people complained that the bodywork isn't consistently colored.
It is very simaler to the Ferrari Daytona SP3. It is built the same way but has all wheel drive. Unlike the P1 the real car is a hybrid but the technic one isn't. The suspension is at an angle unlike the other cars.
